Q: How can you make the 2009 dodge challenger srt8 weigh less?
What parts can you remove from the 2009 dodge challenger srt8 to make it significantly lighter?

A: Nothing will make a big difference. You’ll hear some people say remove the spare tire, take out the back seat, stuff like that – taking 100 lbs off the car won’t make a noticeable difference in a car that weighs more than two tons. And what would you do if you removed the spare and then had a flat?

If you want a lighter car, buy a Mustang or wait for the Camaro.

EDIT – as I expected, you did get an idiot that thought removing the back seat would be a good idea. You will NEVER notice the difference in performance, and now your 5 seat coupe seats 2. Moron.

Q: Am i the only one that likes the dodge challenger srt8?
why is it that every time i see a video on youtube of the dodge challenger srt8, some crappy honda or some ghetto car beats it and then people on the forum try to say that the honda is stock!

does any body know of a video that shows the srt8 winning?

personally i think the challenger is kickass!!!

A: I love it also, wish I could fit one into the old budget.

Q: I have a choice between 2 cars. Which one should I get, the Dodge Challenger SRT8 or the 2010 Mustang GT?
My cousin has a 1989 5.0 Mustang and everyone else I know has a mustang, but I really like the Dodge Challenger SRT8. I dont know what I should do.

A: Dodge Challenger SRT 8 hands down.

Q: Challenger SRT8 vs Camaro 2SS what would you get and why?
Dodge Challenger SRT8 vs Chevy Camaro 2SS
what would you get and why?
Hey i’m getting my license in a few weeks and i’m wondering what should i get
a Dodge Challenger SRT8 or a Chevy Camaro 2SS

A: I’d take the camaro because of looks. They are both fast cars.

But I’m pretty sure you’re parents are not going to drop 50K on a car for new driver, especially one that has that much HP.

Q: What is the best New Muscle Car for the money: Mustang Shelby, Camaro SS, Charger SRT8 OR Challenger SRT8?
Forget the overpriced Corvette.

I’m torn between the Camaro SS and Challenger SRT8-both looks and performance are kick ass!

A: All are good cars. Pick the one that YOU like best.

The Charger SRT8 costs $38,180
The Challenger SRT8 costs $41170
The Mustang Shelby costs $45000
The Camaro SS is a bargain at $30,995

The Vette isn’t all that much over priced as you say. A base model Vette is only $4000 more than the Shelby and will out perform all of the others on your list.

Personally, I pick The Camaro SS. With the $15,000 you save from not buying the other cars on your list you could ship your new Camaro to Lingenfelter Performance Engineering and have their 570 HP TVS2300 Supercharger Package installed. You would sure suprise the heck out of the Mustangs, Chargers, and Challengers that you may run across.

If my budget would allow the Vette would be my second choice.

Q: How much does a Brand new Dodge Challenger SRT8 cost in Mexico?
Because I plan on joining the army and use my signing bonus to buy a new car. I also want to save some money.

A: depends who is buying it…….drug dealers pay cash, so they’ll look for a deal……..a regular working man won’t have the pesos or credit, so he’ll get stuck paying more.

Q: Who owns or will own the 2008.75 Dodge Challenger SRT8?
Who has purchased the new 2008.75 Dodge Challenger SRT8 and what do you think about it?
We just got our first one at our dealership and I was wondering what people thought of it.
It is one of the few that hasn’t been sold yet and I wanted some testimonials from actual owners to assist when demostrating the vehicle other than your normal 0-60, stylish retro look, quarter mile mumbo jumbo!
Thanks ahead of time.

A: I wish I could afford to buy one. We also just got our first one (black in color) at the dealership I work for, and I tell you what that is one awesome looking car.

Q: Have you seen any 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8’s on the street?
I know they are out but i’ve yet to see one on the street. If you have seen one on the street or at your local car lot, let us hear your story and your thoughts.

A: I have seen one.
What I like about the Dodge Challenger SRT8:looks supercool
What I hate about it:engine is too loud

Q: Have your heard of the car Challenger srt8?
My dad ownes 1..
rick b.. dont be rude!

A: yes the srt8 is one of the nicest ones they build, and there’s a few of them around where i live at,i can look ot my window on a clear morning and see the one my neighbor owns, your dads got a nice car.good luck.

Q: what is faster a 2007 dodge challenger srt8 or a 2006 dodge charger srt8?
i need help i need to know what to buy please stock srt8 answers only

A: Charger is a boat too…duh they both weigh about the same

Charger SRT8 -4150lbs
Challenger SRT8 – 4167lbs

It depends on the gearing and if you get auto or stick.

I’ve seen stock Chargers SRT8’s run 13.2.-3 in 1/4 mile and I’ve seen Challengers run 13.3 – 5 in 1/4 mile.

Oh and by the way there is no 2007 Challenger. Challengers went into production in 2008.

Q: How much will the 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 cost?

A: all of em are already sold and for a premium over sticker.

Q: How much will the Dodge Challenger SRT8 cost?

A: Dodge lists an MSRP of $40,095. Since the vehicle has been eagerly anticipated, I would assume that dealerships will be adding a substantial markup on top of the $40K sticker.

Q: 2008 dodge challenger SRT8 top speed?
anyone know what the top speed a 08 challenger SRT8 can hit is?

A: Electrically limited to 170 mph

Q: should i get a 2008 dodge challenger srt8 or dodge ram3500 cummins?

A: I have had a 08 Challenger SRT8 on order since Feb 07. Firstly, Good luck in finding a 2008 SRT8 Challenger and secondly, good luck in getting one for MRSP….you will be looking at easily a +$10K market up for an SRT8 (min. $50K).

Having a 06 Magnum SRT8 (summer car) and a 04 Dodge Ram 3500 CTD with performance upgrades. I enjoy both vehicles but I would have to say my truck is the more enjoyable and most practical of the two vehicles as I haul my family around in it, haul our 5th wheel, and best thing I enjoy is the look at sports car owners when I blow there doors off.

The Dodge Ram 3500 you can have the best of both worlds….HP(lots of performance upgrades) & a workhorse hauler. The cummin’s you can crank out the HP and Torque very easily with a Performance Chip, exhaust, CAI, injectors. If you want to get carried away you can get stackable chips and propane injection that can crank out the HP. Also, the CTD is a great motor long lasting! However, the drawbacks for the Diesel when a part breaks be prepared for a big bill at times! Diesels are not the cheapest to maintain when things break.

If you wait for the 2009 Challenger they will have a 6 speed manual and a possible 6.4L Hemi that will crank out +500HP.

Q: What is faster, the Saleen S281, or the 2010 Challenger SRT8?

A: truth is the mustang is lighter and has it beat, unless they lighten the challenger up some the times will be slower on it than the mustang, good luck.

Q: How is the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 in snow and bad weather?
I am thinking about buying the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, I am aware of its amazing power and acceleration, but is it built like all the other jeeps? How is it in the snow and bad weather? And I see that its a 4×4, but is that full time or can you put it in 4×4 low? Thanks.

A: The SRT8 Grand Cherokee is AWD, not 4WD. There is no lockable 4WD mode. If all you are doing it city driving, you should have no trouble.

It does have very large, wide tires that will push the snow instead of cut thru it, but I dont think you are buying this vehicle to really drive it in mud or snow, are you.

And to the moron who said by a Ford…I would put the capabilities of a Jeep against any Ford SUV and see who gets to the top of the mountain first. JEEP = 4X4. Always has, always will.

Moron.

Q: What performance parts should i add to my charger srt8?
I’m trying to get a better 0-60 time on my charger srt8…Anybody have any good suggestions to add on to my car?

A: adding a programmer to it is the most gainful amount of power you will get from it,their really expensive, but what they do is allow you to dial in the timing as well as the spark advance and also allow for more richer fuel mixture, this all combined will increase the amount of horse power, then once that’s done to it you can add a few bolt on items such as a cold air intake and even nitrous if you want to,then you,ll see a high gain in horse power and speed.good luck.

Q: Does my Dodge Charger SRT8 HAVE to use 91 octane?
I am getting a SRT8 Charger and I have read that the recommended fuel is the 91 octane. Will it screw up my engine to run 87 or even run 87 with octane booster? My truck has 10.1 compression and runs great on 87. THe SRT Hemi is only 9.8 or there about.

A: not reccomend but required. the car is tuned for it and because of that wont run properly without 91+ octane.

Octane boost doesnt help much unless you put in a few bottles every fill up.
and your compression has nothing to do with it its all about timing.

when your fuel combusts

Q: were can i rent a srt8 red dodge charger or a 2008 red ford mustang shelby in the houston area?
i am looking to rent a red srt8 dodge charger or a 2008 red ford mustang shelby for an especial occasion in the houston area?
please let me know if any ideas?

A: You might try Galleria Exotics. It looks like they may have what you need. The price they quote is actually not bad. Just realize they usually have a Rev Limiter on these. If you rev them up too much they have a kill switch that cuts it off, and your have to pay to have it picked up. Other than that, they are loads of fun and for a special ocassion, worth the $500 plus insurance.

http://www.galleriaexotics.com/

Here is another site as well:

http://www.rentexoticcars.com/houston.html

I rented one for my wife’s 50th birthday, and it was the biggest surprise of her life. The picture I have of her shows her grinning ear to ear, and you can see it through the windshield. Best picture I ever got of her, and she still talks about it.

Q: Would a used SRT8 Magnum be a good college car?
Well, I have an opportunity to purchase an SRT8 Magnum for college. I will be going to college this fall. I have experience driving other powerful cars regularly, such as a 2003 SVT Cobra and a 5.7L 300C. The Magnum has 34,000 miles and is in pretty darn good condition.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – autoinsurance.noneto.com

Q: When a car has a dual exhaust do you need to buy two mufflers if you want to get new ones: ex.Charger srt8?
I bought a charger srt8 and wanted to add the new Flowmaster’s Super 44’s and I wanted to ask if I needed to buy two mufflers or just one for the exhaust. I’m trying to get a deeper throatier sound, if any advice to getting that i appreciate it.

A: the srt-8 comes with dual exhaust so if you want to change then you,ll have to buy two mufflers for it,those are nice cars ,but don’t always sound the best from the factory, adding 44,s to it will help it sound a lot better, good luck.

Q: What is the difference between Jeep grand Cherokee srt8 2006 and 2007?
I know that the years are different, don’t have to point out the obvious but any specifics different about the two?

A: No specific differences.

Q: Is it normal for the 07 Jeep GC SRT8 to make an odd noise when turning off the car using remote start system?
It’s a brand new car that we are looking to buy from the dealer. They say it’s normal something about the system needing to reset. I don’t know how to describe the noise, kind of like a single clank right when you turn the car off remotely.

A: i dont think so. what kind of noise is it like an engine noise or, an audiable sound like a beep. more info needed. and if it is engine then take it in.

Q: Can I put a dodge viper srt10 engine in a dodge charger with a srt8 HEMI?
They are both dodges so it should be possible.

A: I’m sure it’s possible, but with some hefty modifications. I’d first make sure that it will fit in the engine bay. Then I’d find a computer wiz who can get the car’s computer to talk to the v-10’s computer. It will probably run but the transmission might not shift. We ran into this at a shop I used to work at when we installed a v-8 in a Prowler.

Q: How much would a down payment on a Dodge Charger SRT8 be?
I looked online and found one i like and the price for it is $27,748. So how much do you think the down payment on it would be?

A: Downpayment can be anything you want it to be. Just keep in mind that the lower your downpayment, the higher the COB ( cost of borrowing ) will be as you are paying more in interest charges as well as possibly even a higher interest rate.

Some places ask for a minimum of 5% down, others say no-money-down. I would suggest putting down as much as you can comfortably afford so you pay less interest on the loan.

Nice car BTW

Q: What do you think of the Dodger Charger srt8?
i think it is awesome, it is very fast with the 6.1 L v8 425 hp hemi and 4 doors so it is also very roomy.

perfect for someone who wants to have a fast sports car and have room for the passengers in the back.

what do you think? do you like them?

A: I don’t think much of it, to me the car lacks focus, big car with a big engine. Its more of an image car, too heavy to be a performance car, too heavy and with ponderous handling to be sporty. Old school technology.

Q: Will a 300C SRT8 with snow tires make a huge difference in the snow?
We have previously owned a 300C that was terrible in the snow. It was RWD and I believe it had all season tires. We loved the car so much that we’re now getting the SRT8 version. Will this one be any better in the snow if we added snow tires? The last one couldn’t even get up the driveway…

Thank you!!

A: Snow tires will make a big difference. I recommend the Blizzak (I’m not sure of the spelling) snow tire which is avaailible with snipes (small spikes built into the tire). You may want to consider purchasing 4 snow tires.

Q: How much should i pay for a 2006 srt8 jeep?
It has 36,000K miles on it. the dealer is asking 30,000. Is that a good price? Or do you think i can talk him down a little? A lot?

A: I wouldn’t pay more than 25k for that car. However they are 50k new, so 30k is pretty reasonable. I just usually pay bottom dollar for my vehicles, I find the best deals I can.

Q: how long to order a 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8?
I’m looking to get a 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8. I live in Georgia and according to the dodge website there isn’t one on a lot within 300 miles. I called a couple of dealerships and they said they could get me one in a couple of days. Does this sound right? If I put down a deposit, how long until they would actually have it. Also, are they going for MSRP or more?

A: Yeah that is about right. A dealer usually has agreements with other dealers and they pull one off another dealer’s lot or just order one, but a few days sounds normal. The most you should have to wait is two weeks.

As for price, depends on the dealer. They may mark it up a bit from MSRP. Could be a few thousand more than MSRP, but then again you could find a good dealer that won’t. It’s a toss up either way. You can negotiate on the price even before you order it.

Q: Car Insurance on a 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8?
I was wondering what is a aproximate rate on the car insurance on a Dodge Charger SRT8. I am 22 years old and a good record. Any suggestions doesnt have to be accurate. Also if you have 2 cars is the rate cheaper than just 1 car.

A: yes it is cheaper to insure two cars rather than one,my cousin just bought a new charger with the hemi in it,and her insurance is well over 200 a month right now,the told her it would come down as she got older ,she doesn’t have any tickets or anything else, but to me that’s way too much to pay for insurance, but that’s full coverage also, she is also 25 years old, good luck.

Q: 2007 dodge charger srt8 need electronic throttle controle?
i have a 2007 dodge charger srt8 and need to replace the electronic throttle controle where can i get one and how much should it cost

A: everything on the vehicle right now is covered under warranty on it,so if your having any problems from it at all take it back, use the warranty while you can, they,ll repair it at no charge to you at all, good luck.

Q: I need a soft copy manual for a Dodge Charger SRT8.?
I’ve always been able to download free manuals for my cars in the past. Does anyone know where I can find a free one for a Dodge Charger SRT8? Even a manual for the engine and a separate one for the rest of the car would be ok.

A: you cant download free ones anymore for the newer model ones, you can go to dodges web site and pay for one or order a soft copy from them or a dealer can get you one for it,you can get some manuals for the newer ones on their web site but not many are available right now,you may find one for it on this site, good luck. http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/index.jsp?screenName=service&country=us&emailUrl=goToEmailForm(‘R’)

Q: how much does it cost to fill up a 2006 dodge charger srt8?
how much does it take to fill up a tank on one of these also which gas is recommended ?

A: It takes about 17 gallons to fill it up so multiply that by the price per gallon in your area to figure out the cost.
Also an SRT8 uses premium unleaded therefore more money to filll it up.

Q: Hey I was wondering where I could get the elusive 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 in that awesome green color?
Or I wanted to get the yellow daytona edition or the bright blue super bee. I live in illinois close to chicago, any help with dealers that have these cars would be nice!

A: Here’s EIGHT of them for sale right now on ebaymotors:

http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Cars-Trucks___2008-Dodge-Charger-SRT8_W0QQMake247a0eZDodge3f237b7QQModelYearf0c65f14Z20081774c6QQ_nkwZ2008Q20DodgeQ20ChargerQ20SRT8QQ_catZ6001QQ_fxdZ1QQ_pcatsZ6000

Get one then have it repainted exactly as you want.

Q: Do the Dodge charger srt8 and the chrysler 300 srt8 have the same engine?
I was just looking at the specs and they are all the exact same that i noticed….I know they are both made by the same corp…

A: Yes, the drive train is the same on both vehicles. The differences are in the interior and exterior.

Q: How much would a dealership pay for a (2006-2008)Dodge Charger SRT8 at a car auction?
I really want to get one. But only dealerships can buy cars for the low. I have 8 grand and could have 10 by Jan 2009. Who can I pay to go and get me the car?
I perfer the SRT8. But the RT would do for me.

A: they pay almost what loan value is on them ,people are very misguided on this part of it they think that dealers really do get these car dirt cheap and they don’t,when it goes through the sale the pay real high amounts for them sometimes, usually never less than 80% of the value, especially on a srt8 charger, those cars don’t run through the sale to cheap, usually for a fee of a few hundred bucks they will let you go with them and bid on a car,and buy it,most dealers charge a 300-500 buck fee and ask you not to tell what you actually paid for it,we went Wednesday night and took a few buyers, and all they bought was small cars, the fee is still the same though if you buy a car, good luck.,,PS i found the sale sheet for the night we went, and there was one charger that went through the sale it sold for around 24 thousand counting the sale bill on it and it was 2007 model with very low miles on it,this should give you a general idea of what one will cost you, good luck.

Q: Dodge Challenger SRT8?
Hi,

I was thinking about buying a Dodge Challenger SRT8. It is one of the best looking muscle cars I have ever scene. Do you have an experience with the car or info and articles available?

A: You can’t go wrong in in the purchase of the Dodge Challenger SRT8. The Camaro will fit someone in the drivers seat who is about 5′1″ that weighs 90 lbs. The Challenger ride quality is superb, not to mention the power the car has at 425 horsepower, and that’s stock!

Trust me when I tell. I also agree with the first poster, I looked at that and there is good info with a good discussion forum. Stick your head in there and check it out.

Q: which is better dodge challenger srt8 or ford mustang shelby gt 500?
i want to know which car is better i heard the dodge challenger are rare but the ford mustang shelby is better i need help

A: It really depends on the year model your going to buy. My advice go for the challenger, not to mention that the you dont find many challengers roaming around. But if price is an important issue to you then the mustang is cheaper no doubt. My older brother owns a porsche 911 turbo and he wants to sell it and get a Corvette ZR1 so it depends on what you think is necessary.

Q: Dodge Challenger SRT8 6 Speed.?
I bought a Dodge Challenger SRT8 6 speed and I’m happy with it except for one thing. The clutch grabs way to high on the pedal. Is there a way I can adjust the clutch so it grabs a little sooner? You have to let the pedal out just about all the way before it will engaged. Thanks for your answers.

A: It needs to be adjusted to your liking…Right now it,s a little too tight…Your dealer should be able to help you out..Hopefully for free!!!

Q: which car is faster the 2011 mustang 2009 dodge challenger srt8 or the 2010 camaro ss i need specific info?
what are their top speeds
what are their prices new and used prices
help i cant decide which to buy helpppppppppp

A: This is one’s for the actual dealerships, guy. And I doubt you’ll be hitting the top speeds on public roads…

Q: Dodge challenger srt8 as a daily driver?
I plan to get a dodge challenger srt8 after a couple of years (when the price lowers) and is 14city/20hwy alright as a daily driver? All ima do is go to the mall, drive my mom around, go to school, and show it off ofcourse =]. So what do you guys think about that? and if i drive it in a way to save gas, would it still be alright?

PS: How long do you guys think it’ll for the 09 challenger srt8 to atleast drop to 20k?

A: I’ve got an 09 SE as my daily driver doing majority highway-style driving and it’s still a lil bit of a punch to the wallet even with a decent job/paycheck. I’d advise the at most R/T if you’re gonna use it as a daily driver. If you’re going to be doing stop and go driving the cylinder cut-off won’t register so your mileage will be far worse than you’re expecting. Judging by your grammar and typing you’re not older than 25 so insurance is going to be a b*tch also, make sure you get some quotes and factor that into your plans. The Challenger has an 18.5 gallon tank (average fill-up with the low gas light is 16.5 gal) that you’ll probably have to refill bi-weekly at best so add in gas prices.

As far as price, barring Chrysler going bankrupt for good and shutting down, I wouldn’t expect to see prices of $20,000 for at least 5 years or 80K miles. Just estimates but the only marginally comparable aged car is a 2007 SRT8 Charger and its recommended selling price is still 25,000 according to Edmunds.com. And the new Charger isn’t nearly the ‘collector’ item the Challenger is.

Whatever trim you end up with, its a cool car that always gets a ton of looks/comments. Good luck

Lookin for a new Dodge Challenger? Find more auto classifieds and cars for sale at LemonFree.com

Q: dodge challenger?
next year i will be leasing a new car after my bmw 530i lease is up. currently i have two cars in my mind one is ford mustang gt, the other one is the upcomming 2008 dodge challenger. i know that after driving a bmw, its going to be depressing to drive any of these two cars, however i am tired of paying over $900 on payments. so which car should i get 2008 ford mustang gt which is 4.6 v8 about 300hp or the 2008 dodge challenger which is 6.1 v8 about 450hp and cost between 25,000-30,000. i need honest answers from people who have own mustangs and other american cars.

A: I think your in for a difficult transition but i would go with the challenger they are both decent looking outside but the ford is very cheep inside and from what Ive see the challenger looks like it will have at least a decent interior. the 450Hp only helps its case, plus everyone and there mother doesn’t own one. Mustang’s are a dime a dozen.

Q: Dodge Challenger….?
I know the new Dodge Challenger SRT-8 came out, but does anyone know if Dodge is going to make:

a) A cheaper version with less power
b) A convertible version

Thanks!

A: The ‘08 will be SRT8 only.
The ‘09 will come out with the Hemi engine as well as the 3.5 litre V6. There are also plans for a convertible version as well as 4.0 litre engine ( the new Phoenix motor replacing the current 3.5 L V6 ) coming out around 2010 or 2011

Q: What will the sticker price be on the new Dodge Challenger? Is it rear wheel drive?
I had two questions about that new dodge challenger. What will the sticker price be and is it rear wheel drive?

A: around 40 thousand and it is rear wheel drive,it should be a nice one, good luck.

Moron.

Q: How much would insurance be on a 2010 r/t dodge challenger?
It would be a 2010 r/t dodge challenger for a 19 year old female . No at-fault accidents or criminal record or anything. How much would the insurance be? Any ideas would help. Also, would she need a cosigner if she had no credit history but had cash for a down-payment? Any way around the cosigner because her dad doesn’t want her to get one haha thanks!

A: Try this site

http://www.usainsurancequotes.net/

Here you can compare quotes from different companies

Q: Is there a company that could make a replica 1970 Dodge Challenger body?
Me and my friend are both going to find broken down versions of our dream muscle cars, and I was wondering if instead of me having to find a rusted out shell of a car to fix if there was a company that could just make a replica body of a 1970 Dodge Challenger.
I could buy a new car for the price it’d cost to to this, but that’s not the point. I could buy several new cars for what I’d be willing to spend on this, but a new car does not have the nostalgia, class, or culture that comes with a vintage car.

A: Phone Boyd Coddington in CA. Those guys can make anything inside a couple of months.

Q: why 2009 dodge challenger front seats gets hot when the car is running ?
I have 2009 dodge challenger & when the car is running the front seats gets hot, But the car does not have heated seats. what’s a problem & what should I do?
I don’t have heated seat on my car but the seats in front gets hot. How can I fix it?

A: You actually DO have heated seats.
It’s not an option on that car it’s factory standard equipped. You didn’t get a choice.
Read your owners manual and learn how to turn them off. Or maybe you actually have an electrical malfunction keeping them on when they shouldn’t be, in which case you should see your dealer for warranty repair.
In either case, NICE CAR DUDE!!!!!!!!!

Best of Luck!

Q: Where should I look or where can I get a 1970 Dodge Challenger?
Hi I am looking for places I should look to find a 1970 Dodge Challenger for cheap. It can be a hing of junk or whatever, needing work. Please let me know, thank you.

A: There are a lot of online sites that have some classic and muscle car listings. But the two that have the most are hemmings.com and carsonline.com. Most car collectors use them because of their reputation. If there is one available in the US, you’ll find it on one of them, or both.

Q: What Year was the best year for the Dodge Challenger?
I want to know what the best year for the Dodge Challenger was *before* 1980. When was it most popular, and today which year is considered the holy grail of Challengers?

A: 1970, in my opinion was the best challenger for the time.

Q: Can the dealer program new keys for a 2010 Dodge Challenger without the car?
Suppose you lost both keys for a 2010 Dodge Challenger and only have the regular key for the door and glove box. Does the car have to be present at the dealer for them to program new keys?

A: Why in the world did you loose both keys already? You need to chain them to your arm or something. But you will need to take the vehicle into the dealer.

Q: How dependable is the V6 in the new Dodge Challenger?
I’m thinking about getting the new Dodge Challenger with the 3.5 litre V6. Just curious about how reliable it is.

Thanks

A: I own a 2009 R/T Challenger and the V-8 is awesome, but the best of the best out of all three.
The V-6 would be great to save money on gas and still have the pretty looks.
Upgrading to the V-8 will of course bring you power, but if you “step on it” your money will fly out of your wallet. Whats nice about the V-8 is that at cruise speeds (when you don’t step on it) it switches to a 4 cylinder. But the V-6 will hold of up great! They are fabulous cars. One thing, be aware of your right rear rocker quarter panel. I had to have mine fixed and so did some other owners from the Challenger forum site.

Q: Why is the Dodge Challenger Concept not on the buyable list of cars in NFS Undercover?
I really want to buy the Dodge Challenger Concept in NFS Undercover but it is not under the list of American cars as buyable or locked. Help please.

A: now i havent got the game but since most of the need for speeds have some cars in a bonus section mabye you should try that idk i just wanted to give some advice

Q: Can a Dodge Challenger Hold 4 People Comfortable?
Can it and is the Dodge challenger worth it?

A: Yes, that is one good thing about the challenger, it does have a large backseat. Four people should be comfortable.

Q: how much would a 2008 dodge challenger cost?
i really want a dodge challenger but they are expensive (almost $60,000) so how could i get a used one for around $20,000
i seen that but what difference does it have from the se and the r/t?…is it a big difference or what?

A: The new Challenger SE sells for about $21,000

http://autos.yahoo.com/dodge_challenger/

(edit)
Well, the SE has a 3.5L V8 with 250hp, the R/T and SRT8 have larger V8 engines and they have a few different features. If you really want a Challenger and can deal with a little less power, the SE was designed for you.

Q: What it the difference between the 1970 dodge challenger T/A and the R/T?
I cant quite figure out the difference between the 1970 dodge challenger R/T and the 1970 doge challenger T/A

but 1 more question. is the 1969 ford mustang mach 1 428 cobra jet ram air or the boss 420 better then each dodge challenger?
and what about the 1972 dodge charger

A: The Challenger was introduced in 1970 with two models:

BASE CHALLENGER
hardtop
SE formal hardtop
convertible

CHALLENGER R/T
hardtop
SE formal hardtop
convertible

The standard engine in the R/T was the 383 Magnum. Optional was the 440-4, 440 Six Pack, and 426 Hemi. The 340 was not available on the R/T, no matter what anyone tells you – they’re wrong.

The base Challenger could be had with the Slant 6 or the 318 standard. From there, you could get the 383-2 and the 383-4 (almost like an R/T incognito). The 340 also was available on the base Challenger (hardtop and ragtop only) as the 340 Performance Package . . . and this is where the T/A comes in.

As Dodge decided to offer the 340 package on the base Challenger, it only makes sense that the Challenger T/A package was offered on the base Challenger. This package – only available on the hardtop – came with a fiberglass hood similar to the 1969 A12 Super Bees and Road Runners, special striping, side-exit exhaust (except in CA, I believe), a special spoiler package, and a 340 engine with Six Pack carburetors, among other heavy-duty equipment. This model was produced to certify certain modifications legal for Trans-Am racing (get it? T/A? But Pontiac already dibs for the name). The front and rear tires were of different sizes – very unusual at the time – and was the best-handling Challenger of them all. Despite a 1971 advertisement showing the T/A would return, none were built.

Regarding your Mustang question, I’d say the CJ is equivalent to the Challenger’s Six Pack. Parts are much easier to find for the Mustang. The Boss 429 was practically hand-built, and in some ways it can’t be compared to the Challenger because of the modifications that were required for it to be built. However, bone-stock Boss 429 cars tended to disappoint road testers at the time because it wasn’t as fast as it looked (despite 13-second times, like a Hemi Challenger R/T). However, Boss 429s have been super-expensive for a very long time.

The 1972 Charger . . . depends on the model. There was the R/T replacement called the Rallye which had a 400 standard and could have a 340 and 440 optional (about 5 or so Six Packs were built before it was cancelled on the first week). You could also get the 440 on the SE. This was the first year for the low-compression engines, so 1971s tend to be more desirable but the 1972 have their own appeal and can still be fast.

Q: How do you replace a celica tail light?
I had a run in with a light pole and now need to replace my right tail light on my 2000 celica gt. I have removed the casing before to replace the bulb and was hoping replacing it would be fairly easy to do myself. Is it more complicated than removing the old one and plugging in the new one? I need some instructions please!
I guess I may not have made it clear… I always replace my own light bulbs but now I need to replace the housing.

A: open the rear trunk or hatch if it has one, remove all the inside paneling screws and and panels on the side that your replacing the housing and you’ll find the nuts, screws or bolts that hold the entire tail lamp housing onto the body.

Q: How much faster will the Toyota Celica GT-S go with a supercharger added to it?
What would be the horsepower and the maximum top speed. It has 160 mph on the dash but it’s been tested to hit 135mph but no more because of the governor on the engine. It’s horsepower is 180. How much increase in horsepower and top speed am I looking at if I buy a supercharger for the 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S?

A: That’s similar to a RSX type S. And on a RSX type S I think if super charged/ turbo’d it can reach up to 290 Horse power.

Q: Is Toyota planning on bringing back the Celica to the United States?
I heard a rumor that Toyota was designing a new Celica and planning on releasing it back into the United States. Is this true and if it is, when can I expect its arrival?

A: It’s already here: Scion T.C. (T.oyota C.elica).

Q: Why Celica t23 and GTS have different HP with the same 2ZZGE engine?
Celica GTS is n.american version with 180hp
Celica t23 is european version with 190hp
Why and what is the mechanical difference that makes that difference??
I want to know what makes that difference on the engine or if it uses another ECU or what¿¡!

A: Da emmissions are da diff in da usa we have a eco problem so yea

Q: How do you change the radiator on a 1991 toyta celica?
I just bought a new radiator for my celica. I just don’t know what kind of tools i would exactly need. Also if at all possible can tips be provided? I have also heard that i would have to change he transmission fluid, is that true also?

A: www.autozone.com there is online information to help you it is very simple to change. just a few basic hand tools are needed be careful when removing transmission cooling lines not to damage or contaminate will have to top off trans fluid when done best to go to local auto parts store and purchase a repair manual it will walk you through step by step hope this helps

Q: What would increase a 93 celica gt torque and horsepower?
I have a stock 93 celica gt and it has no takeoff what so ever. Money is no issue what can i do to it?

A: Money is no issue? Excellent.

Sell the car, and get one that has better performance to start with.

It’s the quickest, and most efficient way to see power gains.

Q: How can you tell the difference between a 1997 toyota celica coupe and liftback?
I bought a 1997 toyota celica not that long ago but i couldnt tell what trim it was like a ST or GT. The owner didnt know anything at all. So my question is how can i tell from details from the car if it is a ST or GT? Also how could i tell if it is a coupe or liftback? i couldn’t get anything out of the manual.

A: Give your VIN to a Toyota dealer and they can tell you all kinds of stuff about the car.
If your Celica has a 1.8L engine, it’s an ST and if it’s a 2.2L, it’s a GT.
On a liftback model, the rear glass raises when you pop the trunk. The back glass is close to the size of the windshield. A coupe’s back glass is shorter and does not move when you open the trunk. Only a conventional decklid opens when you pop the trunk.

Q: Who is the best dealership in Houston to purchase a Toyota Celica from for someone with no credit?
I want to purchase a newer Toyota Celica from a dealer in Houston. Who would be the best dealership for no hassling and financing a person with no credit? I am a student working on getting credit but so far have found it difficult finding a way to buy my dream car. Thanks!

A: Fred Haas, either in Spring TX or On Hwy. 249, I’m not so sure about your credit or lack of , but they are pretty good people to work with ..

If not try a used car lot that’s been in business for years, there are many, and must have a pretty good record to still be in business, I’m sure they would give you a good deal, and the credit or lack of would not be a problem . Everyone has to start somewhere

GOOD LUCK
.

Q: Where can I find good looking aftermarket tail lights for my 1995 Toyota celica?
Like I said I want some new tailights for my 1995 Toyota celica and I have not had any luck findin any and was hopeing someone else has found some. If you have please send me the link to where you got them.

A: I don’t want to call you the typical Toyota owner who has to change everything to make his car look better……..but…..

Q: What is the difference between the Toyota celica GT-S and ZX model in Australia?
What is the difference between the seventh generation
Toyota celica GT-S and ZX model? – they both have the same engine and the GT-S is 7.4 seconds to 60 mph, but is this the same as the ZX model avaliable in Australia and New Zealand???

Thanks!
ZR model not ZX

A: the price tag

Q: What is the biggest wheel diameter for Toyota Celica?
I want to buy a celica and i am wondering what is the biggest diameter of wheels that would fit and still have enough room for the tire with out rubbing. Thanks!

A: 18 inch.

Q: When installing a sound system in a 2001 celica is it worth even replacing the stock front & rear speakers?
As in Just installing a Tuner, Amp and Sub. Will that give good results and are the celica’s stock speakers just as good as any cheap brand 6×9’s anyway? Or is it worth spending a little more and doing the full system?

A: only if the new system exceeds the radio output wattage

Q: How important is it to replace the valve guide seals in my 1996 Toyota Celica?
My mechanic says I need to replace the valve guide seals in my 1996 Toyota Celica. It will cost $800. What’s the worst that can happen if I don’t?

A: you will also be blowing a lot of blue smoke out of your tail pipe sonstantly, and if it gets bed enough you will need to constantly monitor and fill your oil to maintain the proper level.

Q: How much would an engine for a toyota celica cost?
I’m thinking about buying a used manual toyota celica, but i think it needs a new engine. How much would this usually cost? It’s a 1996 if that effects anything.

A: You should be able to buy remanufactured engines directly from Toyota dealers. Expensive! Or you can go to a salvage yard and buy a used, or wrecked car with engine and transmission for around $1000 plus labor. The number of miles on the car will affect the price significantly. Be sure you get the same type of engine/transmission from the salvage car as your Celica manual.

Q: What is a really good brand name for performance and exterior parts for a toyota celica?
I have a 2001 toyota celica and i’m trying to find nice performance parts and exterior parts for it. But I don’t know of any really good make of brand names that is known to be good. Any ideas’?

A: My friend my friend, you are in luck! The toyota Celica just so happens to be on of the more popular vehicles on the market to soup up.

All of these guys are rip offs, but they are also negotiators – talk them down never settle . good luck to you

Q: Is a 1992 toyota celica gts a good choice for a car?
I am interested in a 1992 toyota celica gts and am wondering what some knowledgeable people in them think. It has 145000 miles and in very good condition for the age. I can get it for 3600 and am wondering if thats a good deal. Is the car even worth it?

A: If it really is in VERY good condition, that’s not a bad deal. I’d offer 3 grand if he’s asking 3600.

Most Celicas of that age aren’t in good enough condition to command that price, though.

Q: How do you take off the stock cd player in a 2002 Toyota Celica GTS?
How do you dissemble the stock cd player in a 2002 Toyota Celica GTS? The cd player doesn’t want to read any disc.

A: dealer or audio shop that does installations. Try cleaning it first. a kit is 25.00 A radio 250.00 At Toyota 600.00 for system

Q: How do you instal a knock sensor on a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS?
How do you instal a knock sensor on a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS?

A: Are you trying to replace a knock sensor? If so, you just unplug, unscrew, and screw the new one in and plug it back up.

If your engine don’t have knock sensors and you are trying to install some, you can’t.

Q: Looking for a used Toyota Celica GTS engine?
I need to find a used 2000′ toyota celica GTS engine. Anyone know a good place to look for one? Thanks!
Under $2000.00 if possible.

A: auto trader is a good place
to start

Craigslist in your area
ebay is another

Q: Where is the knock sensor on a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS?
Where is the knock sensor located on a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS?

A: On side of cylinder block.
Here is removal text and picture.

Q: whats the best exhaust system for a 2000 toyota celica gts?
I have a 2000 toyota celica gts and i want to upgrade the exhaust system on my celica. the problem is that i don’t know what kind of exhaust system i should get? I want to be able to get the most horsepower, aggressive sound out of it. so if anybody is a celica fan and knows about exhaust system please let me know.

A: Get a Corvette exhaust.

Q: What is the part that provides airflow to the engine on a Toyota Celica GTS 1990?
There is a jimmy-rigged air flow for the engine of my 1990 Toyota Celica GTS. I would like to order the correct parts, but can’t find a parts diagram on the web so I can figure out the right part to order. It’s on the right hand side, going from the engine to the right front of the frame. The connection near the frame is rounded rectangular. I believe the connection to the engine is round, about 5″ diameter. Do you know what the part(s) are that I need to order?
It is a 2.2L engine. The part is the air flow/cold air intake. The current system looks like 5″ x 6″ plumbing fittings linked together. The filter on the end looks like the standard filter.

Can it be cleaned?
Also, is the Mass Airflow Sensor part of this system?

A: If you call to place the order, you can simply give them the make, model, year, and engine size and the description as you listed it here. With this information, they will know exactly what you are referring to.

It is a bit hard to answer this without knowing the engine size. One reason is because the air filter assembly on some foreign cars house the Mass Airflow Sensor. Yours may or may not.

Let the parts dealer tell you because these sensors can be quite expensive. No use wasting money on one based on someone’s incorrect answer here when you do not need it.

Q: Is the fuel pump in the gas tank on a 1990 toyota celica gts?
I have to replace the fuel tank on my 90 celica gts but i want to know if the pump is in the tank because that will contribute to cost. Anyone know?

A: If the engine is fuel injected as I believe it is, the fuel pump is in the gas tank.

Q: Can any one help me find a New 2005 Toyota Celica GTS near or in VA?
I’ve been looking for a New 2005 Toyota Celica GTS for a while and im geting despirate. (If you can give me web site that have it i’ll appriciate it)

A: Carmax there is 2 in Richmond and 1 in VA beach or Ebay

Q: PCV or positive crankcase ventilation on a 1986 toyota celica GTS?
I cant find where the PCV is on my car could anyone tell me or better yet show me a photo please it needs to be replaced.

A: IT should b next 2 the distributor on a hose running Vertical next 2 the engine block, its the same color as the hose & in inline with the hose so it looks like a connector of 2 hose instead of a pcv. That would b the drivers side. Front side of the Distributor.

Q: How much to install a turbo on a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS?
Kinda just a rough ballpark for my own information if anyone could help. Probably a huge range of prices for such a cheap car but i just want to get a general idea

A: the cheapest kit is about 3000 from turbokits.com. the better kit is from monkeywrenchracing.com but thats about 4500 with out fuel system upgrades or ecu upgrades. those are just for the kits if you can install it you will save a few hundred bucks. then u will need to get it tuned a shop close to me charges about 100 bucks a hour to do tuning. your probably looking at 5000 plus when all is done.

Q: Do you think these rims would look nice on a silver toyota celica gts?
heres the rims..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS…

heres a toyota celica gts..

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co…

i think it is way better than the rims that are on there now.

A: The links dont work.

Q: When i try to accelerate on my Toyota Celica gts the rpm drops as if it wants to die.?
I know it is not a clutch/transmission problem because it happens even with the car not in gear. So basically when i press the gas to slightly rev up the engine, the rpm drops below 1k and the car shakes as if its about to die then eventually accelerates but sluggish.

What could be causing this? Is something clogged? Fuel pump? Catalytic Converter?

A: Sounds like the timing on the computer, could be a clogged fuel line or a hole in the transmission.

Q: How can i make my 2001 toyota celica GTS look even better than it does factory? ?
I want to put a lot of upgrades on it such as lambo doors, blacklights replacing my lights inside my car, glowing pedals and gauges, lowering springs, and neon lights under my car. I need help on other ideas to go along with what I am contemplating putting on my car.

A: Well first of all, I hope it’s not all show and no go.

Second of all, I myself am a car designer, so feel free to add me to msn @:

stevenneill504@hotmail.com

I designed the bodykit for the worlds fastest Nissan Skyline owned by RIPS Racing New Zealand.

I’d recommend sprucing up that 2ZZ-GE before the body, but here’s some suggestions:

Carbon Hood, Carbon Spoiler, Carbon lip kit, Racing Wheels, Wheel arches, JDM Carbon Mirrors.

Q: i have a black toyota celica gts 04 stick, i have it stock but now i want to custom my celica . What can i do?
which body kit do you recommend? or what can i do to the engine?

A: Hope this helps dude!!

Q: Toyota Celica?
Anyone have a 1990-1993 Toyota Celica? I’m just wondering how good they are? I just got one, and just on an average how long do they last, and what are their major problems if any?

A: Don’t let the bitter Detroit union hacks fool you. The Toyota Celica is a very good car. You should get 150,000 out of it without any big repairs, and 250,000 miles if you’re willing to spend a few hundred on maintenance.

I’ve owned 3 Celicas – a 1975, a 1987 converticle and a 1992. All of them rand like champs and sold for good money. I had a little trouble with electric window switch on the 1987, replaced the alternator early on the ‘92.

Q: toyota celica?
I just recently purchased a 2000 toyota celica and don’t know everything about it yet. Does if have a trunk popper inside the car i can’t find it. I know you can open it from the handle under the trunk lid but i figured it would have a popper on the inside as well. Also i just bought an alarm for it with a trunk popper button but was told it won’t work, why? Its it because its a hatchback?

A: I’m guessing that the remote trunk release button on the alarm fob won’t work because the car does not have an automatic trunk release mechanism. And that’s also why you can’t find a lever for it in the car, because there isn’t one.

Q: Toyota celica?
What are your opinions on the 2000 toyota celica? cute or ugly, fast or slow. Anything you can think of.

I put this in the car section but no one answered. How rude!

A: I have a 2002 with TONS of miles and lots of life left in it. Plenty fast, considering 30 + MPG, and I don’t NEED to drive it hard.
I think it LOOKS great, but reliability makes me want to keep it a few more years, beyond all else.

Q: What does the Toyota Celica emblem stand for?
I know that it is a dragon, and that the word “celica” is derived from a latin word meaning “heavenly” but I would like to know the history of how this emblem came to be the emblem of the toyota celica. What does it mean? What does it stand for, and how does it tie in with the Toyota Celica? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.

A: im assuming that it is on the older celicas. i have a 94 celica and it doenst have that celica symbol. i know what the symbol is though because i just looked it up but i dont know what the symbol means but i hope someone answers this and if i had enough points i would mark this as interesting. also thank you for the latin definition i found that interesting also

Q: Does a 1985 toyota supra look anything like a 1985 toyota celica?
I have a 1985 toyota supra and some people say it is a 1985 toyota celica, am i right or are they.

A: it is probably the celica supra you have. 1983 a celica version with bigger engine was introduced called celica supra . in 1986 4th gen celica became fwd. and now with its own individuality rwd supra is born. get some pictures on the net & compare.enjoy your clsssic icon.

GOOD LUCK
.

Q: How do i make my toyota celica faster?
I have a 2000 toyota celica gt and i would like to make it faster. How would i do so?

A: my answer is nitrous oxide you can find it on this site http://www.autozone.com/

Q: What is the maximum horsepower and torque can you apply to a Toyota Celica GT-S?
If I were really trying to get it fast. If you put a Supercharger in a Toyota Celica GT-S, how much more horsepower are you looking at? Stay on the main question too. After making it as fast as you can with all the tricks and everything, how much can you possibly put into a Toyota Celica GT-S?

A: Depends on how much money you have, really. No one can give you an exact number, but for the most part you don’t want to put too much horsepower in a Front Wheel Drive car because it will torque steer like crazy and would pretty much be useless for day to day driving as well as racing.

I’m sure after spending $30,000 or so on a professional turbocharger, engine tune, and other stuff, you can get 600 bhp from a Toyota 4-cylinder.

But if you are hardcore, you should do something like Tanner Foust’s Scion tC. Convert the car to rear wheel drive and stick a TRD NASCAR Camry engine in it.

Again, it’s all up to the amount of money you have.

Q: Where can I find replacement struts for the trunk of a Toyota Celica?
I have a Toyota Celica 2000 and the struts in the trunk no longer work. I’m getting really tired of holding the trunk door open and having it bang down on my head (ouch!) because the struts no longer work. My Toyota service center quoted a very high price to purchase and install replacement struts. I’m looking for a cheaper option. Also would like to know how difficult it is to install struts myself.

A: Just go to the nearest junkyard, you can usually find a similar model and find that part. Price is good, and fun too to just wonder around the big playground full of different cars.

I want to know what makes that difference on the engine or if it uses another ECU or what¿¡!

A: Da emmissions are da diff in da usa we have a eco problem so yea

Q: How do you instal a knock sensor on a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS?
How do you instal a knock sensor on a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS?

A: Are you trying to replace a knock sensor? If so, you just unplug, unscrew, and screw the new one in and plug it back up.

If your engine don’t have knock sensors and you are trying to install some, you can’t.

Q: Who would win in a rac between z28 and a celica Gts?
This kid wants to race my fiance’s 00 z28 camaro hes got a 00 celica GTS. who do you think would win? my fiance raced a chevell the other and won.

A: camaro z28 hands down. Its got more hp and is simply FASTER

Q: What muffler would be good for an 01 celica gts?
i had a universal muffler on my celica gts that was pretty damn loud.. got a ticket for it had to put the stock one back on.. im looking to put another performance muffler back on thats not too loud but does give it that rumble inside the car ;]]

A: flowmaster 2 chamber 40 series. I put that on every car i’ve had, including 4 cylinders. as long as your not just punching the gas it’ll sound good and have a low tone. Also, check out www.voloperformance.com if you are looking to add some HP to your ride.

Q: Should i buy an 01 honda prelude type SH or a 2000 celica GTS?
The celica GTS has a 1.8L inline 4 and a 6 speed manual, and the prelude has a 2.2L vtech with a 5 spd manual. The prices are very similar, and i wanted some advice as to which one i should get. Thanks.

A: I am a hardcore Toyota loyalist but the Prelude beats the GTS in every department.

They make a million performance and factory parts for the Prelude so you will have selection and good pricing. The H22 is a beast and is very sought after, and I hate to admit it but it spanks the GTS’s VVTLi 1.8 motor. Lots of people have Celica’s but SH’s turn more heads (especially at 5000+RPMS). A Honda Vtec 4 cylinder coupled to a Honda manual transmission is a beautiful thing.

Q: What do you guys think about a celica gts? Is it really a girl car?
i’m thinking on buying a 2001 celica gts. honestly, its all i can afford right now but ive always heard theyre considered girl cars so i dont know if i should buy it or not. what do you guys think?

A: its matter of opinion.

beetle is a true girls car. it comes stock with a flower holder….

rsx, integra, civic, celica, corolla, cobalt. both girls and guys drive these i would say 50/50 as they are economical sport compacts.

Q: Looking for a used Toyota Celica GTS engine?
I need to find a used 2000′ toyota celica GTS engine. Anyone know a good place to look for one? Thanks!
Under $2000.00 if possible.

A: auto trader is a good place

Craigslist in your area
ebay is another

Q: how much miles to a gallon does a celica gts 1988 take?
just want to know how many miles would my 1988 toyota celica gts take to burn 1 gallon?

A: Well, it really depends on how well maintained the car is, and how it is driven…

But for a vehicle to vehicle comparison (same tests done on all cars), the 1988 Toyota Celica scores, depending on model, at best 23mpg city/29mpg highway to worst 17mpg city/24mpg highway, on the US EPA test cycles (recalibrated for the new 2008 testing).

Your mileage may vary, of course.

Q: Is 117k miles too much for a 2000 Celica GTS?
I’m looking at a clean title 2000 Celica GTS with 117k miles. It smells like a smoker too, but I can get rid of that. Is that too many miles? Btw I am buying it from a certified Toyota Dealership. They want 9k for the car. Around 10.5k with taxes and all. Is that too much? Thanks!

A: cars worth between $4,500 and $2,600 depending on condition

for $9K you can get a 2003 or 04
